DURHAM, N.H. (AP) — University of New Hampshire students Matt Evans of the football team and Keely Maguire of the women’s cross country and track and field teams have been named the school’s athletes of the year.
Evans and Maguire received the Jim Urquhart Student-Athlete of the Year award at Tuesday night’s Senior Awards Banquet.
Evans, of Hanover, Mass., graduated in December with a degree in business administration. The football team’s co-captain became UNH’s all-time tackle leader in November. He’s had 460 stops, including 266 solo tackles.
Maguire, of Georgetown, Mass., graduates this month with a degree in political science. She owns three school track records: indoor 3,000 meter; outdoor 3,000 meter; and outdoor 5,000 meter.
