Parkinson’s Support Group hosting speaker at its next meeting
SCOTTSBLUFF - The local Parkinson’s Support Group will host Cindy Kuydendall of Abbot Labs to speak on deep brain stimulation and its use in treating Parkinson’s disease during its monthly meeting.
Kuydendall has been in the deep brain stimulation arena for the past 18 years and she was originally a DBS territory manager for Medtronic for 16 years before supporting all movement disorder centers and hospitals offering DBS therapy in Colorado, Wyoming and western Nebraska. She most recently moved to Abbott Medical in April 2017 when the new infinity directional DBS system was approved in the U.S.
Anyone interested is encouraged to come. The group will also seek advice from Kuydendall on building a support group based on her position on the board of the Parkinson Association of the Rockies.
The Parkinson’s Support Group meets at 10 a.m. on the third Tuesday of the month at Calvary Lutheran Church, 17 E. 27th St., Scottsbluff.
