The past 100 years, November 10, 2018
From the Santa Fe New Mexican:
Nov. 10, 1968: Nobody knows where the movie business is going in New Mexico.
Nobody seems quite sure where it’s been.
But there’s no doubt that the push is on. Industry-hungry New Mexico, which wants a blaze of business without smoke to clog its air, is wooing almost anyone who has a camera.
Nov. 10, 1993: ALBUQUERQUE — State Sen. Martin Chavez won Albuquerque’s mayoral runoff election Tuesday night by a mere 596 votes over Gov. Dave Cargo, who vowed a recount.
The slim unofficial victory came after an extended campaign made necessary when neither candidate won a required 40 percent of the vote in last month’s election, which featured 12 candidates.
