AUSTIN, Texas (AP) _ Tracy Cook had 12 points and 12 rebounds and No. 14 Texas held Oklahoma State to two points over the first 11 minutes of the second half of a 64-43 victory Saturday night.

Stacy Stephens had 12 points and 10 rebounds for her fifth double-double of the season as Texas (14-4, 2-2 Big 12) snapped a two-game losing streak.

Jessica Spinner led Oklahoma State (8-7, 0-4) with eight points. JoRuth Woods and Tai Dillard each scored 10 points for Texas.

The two lowest-scoring teams in the Big 12 combined for nearly as many turnovers (40) as field goals (41). Texas held Oklahoma State to 13-of-44 shooting from the floor and outrebounded the Cowgirls 51-27.

Leading 27-25 at halftime, Texas started the second half with a 10-0 run behind two short jumpers by Woods and a Stephens layup. Kara Faulk’s layup made it 37-27 but OSU wouldn’t score again until Shelby Hutchens’ free throw made it 44-28 Texas with 9:36 to play.

Oklahoma State played the game without coach Dick Halterman, who was suspended for one game by the school after picking up three technical fouls and being ejected Wednesday night in a loss to Colorado.

Texas had a chance to blow the game away early. Cook had six of the Longhorns’ first 12 points as Texas built an 18-4 lead before Oklahoma State’s Chantoya Hawkins hit a 3-pointer to spark a rally that pulled the Cowgirls within two at 27-25 at halftime.
