ST. LOUIS (AP) _ St. Louis Cardinals left fielder Ron Gant aggravated an injured right hamstring trying to make a sliding catch in foul territory in the fifth inning of Saturday's game against the Arizona Diamondbacks.

Gant pulled up short of the wall and slid trying to track down a foul pop by pinch-hitter Brent Brede, then grabbed his right hamstring. He left the game after a short delay.

Gant has been having trouble with his hamstrings off and on. In 60 games, he was batting .213 with 12 home runs and 29 RBIs.
