Dan Neu celebrates 90th birthday
On Sept. 2, 1928 Ernestina Neu presented her husband, Christ, with his best birthday present ever, a bouncing baby boy they promptly named Daniel.
As the 12th child in a family of 17, Dan grew up in Pleasant Valley area and learned to know and appreciate hard work. After working many jobs, he went into business for himself. Upon retiring he discovered he was unable to “do nothing” and has spent the last 30 years as a handyman, doing a variety of household repairs throughout the community. When asked how he learned to do the things he does, he always replies, “through the school of hard knocks”.
Dan is “Dad” to five children and an inspiration to them all. he has been active in the community, serving on several boards as well as being a city councilman and mayor.
An open house will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. on Sept. 2 at 565 Fillmore in American Falls (in the backyard). Please stop by and help Dan celebrate the 60 anniversary of his 30th birthday. No gifts please!
