County Clerk Nancy Scheer reflects on time at the courthouse
MADISON - Madison County Clerk Nancy Scheer started working at the courthouse nearly 40 years ago, but will be stepping aside at the first of the year.
Scheer says there have been a lot of changes at the courthouse through the years ranging from technology upgrades and the way ballots get counted.
She says one thing she’ll miss the most is her co-workers.
“If you stop and think about it you spend more time Monday through Friday with the people you’re working with than you do with your own family.”
Scheer says current Deputy Clerk Anne Pruss will take her spot and is confident she will do well.
She says she will stay at the courthouse and help with the transition process to help make things easier for Anne.
