Stamford free clinic seeks volunteers

STAMFORD — The Americares Free Clinic of Stamford is seeking medical volunteers and interpreters to help low-income patients without insurance.

Americares is looking for nurses, physicians and other medical volunteers, as well as interpreters who are fluent in Spanish and English.

Volunteers are needed to work one to two four-hour clinic sessions per month. The clinic, which is located at 401 Shippan Avenue, has sessions available Monday through Friday. Applicants must be 21 or older.

The Americares Free Clinics provide quality health care to low-income, uninsured patients. Since 1994, clinics in Bridgeport, Danbury, Norwalk and Stamford have helped more than 26,000 Connecticut residents receive free health care services valued at $94 million.
