David Lee Moore, 78, of Clifton, passed away Friday (Aug. 31, 2018) at Presence Merkle-Knipprath Countryside, Clifton.
He was born June 6, 1940, in Chicago, the son of Raymond and Hazel (Fancher) Moore. His parents preceded him in death. David married Ruth Mooi April 21, 1962.
David worked for many years as an electrician. During his leisure time, he enjoyed woodworking and played as Santa Claus during the holidays. David was an active member of the Melvin United Methodist Church and of the First Reformed Church of Wichert, where he was an adult Sunday school teacher and was active with Ambassadors for Christ.
Surviving are his loving wife of 56 years; his sons, Daniel (Linda) Moore, of St. Anne, Will (Barbara) Moore, of Seattle, Dale (Michelle) Moore, of Bradley, and Patrick (Sandie) Moore, of Fairbury; 10 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Preceding him in death were a sister and two brothers.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 4, until the 11 a.m. funeral service at First Reformed Church of Wichert, St. Anne. The Rev. Randy Knoll will officiate.
Memorials may be made to Presence Merkle-Knipprath Countryside, the First Reformed Church of Wichert or the Melvin United Methodist Church.
