Plummer Leaves Game With Injuries

November 19, 2000

PHILADELPHIA (AP) _ Arizona Cardinals quarterback Jake Plummer was knocked out of Sunday’s 34-9 loss to Philadelphia with injuries to his ribs and left thumb.

Plummer got the wind knocked out of him after Hugh Douglas tackled him from behind on a 10-yard run in the third quarter. He sat out two plays, then returned before leaving for good after Brian Dawkins sacked him early in the fourth.

``He’s beat up very badly,″ Arizona coach Dave McGinnis said. ``He got hurt initially when he slid and he got doubled over, and when he got sacked later it made it worse.″

Plummer was sacked six times. He was 8-of-15 for 51 yards. Dave Brown replaced Plummer, and was 11-of-13 for 140 yards, one touchdown and one interception.

There was no immediate word on the extent of Plummer’s injuries.
