Genoa couple in good condition after head-on crash
STERLING – One week after their SUV was crashed into head-on, a Genoa couple are in good condition in a Rockford hospital.
According to a news release from Illinois State Police, Paul A. Alsup 57, of Genoa, was westbound eastbound in a 2014 Honda CRV on U.S. Route 30 just before noon Jan. 19 when a 17-year-old boy lost control of his westbound 2006 Pontiac Grand Prix, which spun into the eastbound lane and hit the Honda head-on.
Alsup and his wife, Cynthia, had to be extricated from the SUV, and after being transferred from Mercy Medical Center in Clinton, Iowa, staff at OSF Saint Anthony Medical Center on Saturday morning said the couple are in good condition.
The boy was cited for driving in the wrong lane, and he and his three passengers were unhurt.
