No. 18 Wisconsin 75, Ohio St. 69
COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) _ Barb Franke scored 25 points and Keisha Anderson added 22 as No. 18 Wisconsin defeated Ohio State 75-69 Sunday.
The Buckeyes (11-5, 2-2 Big Ten) outrebounded the Badgers 35-29, but Wisconsin (9-2, 3-1) made 26 of 29 free-throw attempts, including four key foul shots late in the game.
Ohio State led by as many as nine points in the first half, the last time on Marrita Porter’s two free throws at the 4:59 mark to give the Buckeyes a 28-19 lead.
But Wisconsin pulled to 32-28 at the half on Katie Voigt’s 3-pointer from 25 feet with 26.3 seconds remaining.
The Badgers went ahead 43-42 with 15:12 left in the second half, their first lead since early in the game. Barb Franke was fouled while making a 3-foot jumper and converted her free throw.
Ohio State pulled to 71-69 with 40.5 seconds remaining on Katie Smith’s 3-pointer from the top of the key. But Voigt and Ann Klapperich each made two free throws in the final seconds as the Badgers held on for the victory.
Adrienne Johnson led the Buckeyes with 26 points and 10 rebounds. Smith had 18 points and Porter added 13.
Voigt scored 15 points.
