Santa Claus is comin’ to town: Daily News to publish ‘Pictures with Santa’
BULLHEAD CITY — The Mohave Valley Daily News will welcome Santa on Saturday and encourages local children to stop by, take a photo and give him their wish lists.
“Every year we invite area kids into the newsroom for ‘Pictures with Santa,’ ” said News West General Manager Larry Kendrick. “It’s an opportunity for us to thank the community for supporting our businesses and keeping community journalism alive in the Tri-state.”
Santa will visit with kids and pose for photos from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. MST. Photos will be published in the Dec. 19 issue of the Needles Desert Star and Laughlin Nevada Times. Photos also will be printed in the Christmas Day issue of the Mohave Valley Daily News.
“The papers make a great keepsake for extended family who live outside the area and kids get a kick out of seeing their pictures in the newspaper,” Kendrick said.
Nearly 200 children were featured in the 2017 special section.
“Parents can also drop ‘naughty’ and ‘nice’ letters in Santa’s mailbox,” said National Sales Manager Jamie McCorkle. “It’s very festive and a unique experience for our local children.”
Parents who prefer not to have their child’s picture published in the paper can opt out of the photographs and can simply visit with Saint Nick.
Images also be available for download from Facebook after Christmas.
The event is free to attend and will take place at News West Publishing, 2435 S. Miracle Mile. For more information, call 928-763-2505.
