Shed damaged in west Florence forging fire
FLORENCE, S.C. -- West Florence firefighters Saturday afternoon were able to prevent a shed fire from spreading to a house at 605 Thicket Place.
“Crews were quickly able to control the fire and prevent a catastrophic outcome. Propane tanks from the forging operation could have caused extensive damage but the quick response and scene awareness by crews prevented further damage,” according to a release posted to the agency’s Facebook page.
Fire damage was limited to the shed, vegetation and a fence.
Because the fire spread to a neighbor’s property South Carolina Forestry Commission law enforcement was dispatched to the fire scene, according to the release.
No injuries were reported as a result of the fire.
