Hospital program aims to promote healthy lifestyles in 2018
JUNEAU, Alaska (AP) — An Alaska hospital has a plan in place that could help people stick to their New Year’s resolutions in 2018.
The Juneau Empire reports Bartlett Regional Hospital in Juneau has a program called Health Matters that is geared toward people who have been diagnosed with pre-diabetes or are at risk for Type 2 diabetes.
The program is a yearlong commitment to eating healthier and exercising.
The program also is open to people who just want to live a healthier lifestyle.
Participants must be 18 years or older.
Health Matters will hold weekly meetings starting Jan. 9 for 16 weeks and then monthly meetings for the rest of the year.
There is an informational meeting Monday from 5:30-6:30 p.m. at the hospital’s Robert F. Valliant Administration and Business Center.
