2 horses rescued in Vermont are recovering in New Hampshire
CHICHESTER, N.H. (AP) — Authorities say two horses rescued from a farm in Vermont are recovering from starvation and dehydration in New Hampshire.
Vermont State Police are investigating possible mistreatment of the animals.
Officials say two horses died at the farm in Topsham, Vermont. Two survivors were surrendered to Vermont State Police and are now at Live and Let Live Farm, an animal rescue in Chichester, New Hampshire.
Live and Let Live Director Teresa Paradis said a veterinarian evaluated the horses over the weekend and found them to be in rough shape. She said one of them was “barely alive.”
