INDIANAPOLIS (AP) _ Rookie Tamika Catchings had season highs with 32 points and 14 rebounds Saturday night, leading the Indiana Fever to a 71-62 victory over the New York Liberty.

Catchings played the entire game, hitting 7-of-15 from the field, including 4 of 7 3-pointers, and 14 of 16 free throws.

Olympia Scott-Richardson added 12 points for the Fever (3-2), who snapped a two-game losing streak.

Tamika Whitmore led New York (4-2) with 18 points. Vickie Johnson added 13 and Tari Phillips 10.

New York went on a 13-2 run midway through the second half to tie the score at 49-all, but Catchings scored eight points as the Fever responded with a 16-6 run over the next five minutes and went ahead 65-55 with 1:20 to play.

New York took an 8-4 lead at the start, but Catchings scored the next eight points as the Fever held the Liberty scoreless for more than two minutes. Catchings scored 16 points in the first half as the Fever took a 33-30 lead at the break.
