NEW YORK (AP) _ The agent representing St. John's coach Mike Jarvis has denied that he said his client was considering other coaching opportunities after ending talks with the Washington Wizards.

The agent, Rob Ades, denied speaking to an Associated Press reporter Monday night and saying that Jarvis was considering a major college coaching position and other NBA possibilities.

Ades said Tuesday he hadn't spoken to the AP at all.

The story was based on a phone call with a person who identified himself as Ades to an AP sports reporter.

AP sports editor Terry Taylor said the news agency was checking the source of the call.

Jarvis issued a statement Tuesday saying he has ``no interest in any other college coaching job.''

``Anything that is said, in regards to any job regarding Mike Jarvis, will be made by me and only me,'' Jarvis said. ``The statements that are attributed to Rob Ades are false and inaccurate.''

Jarvis had been discussing the Wizards job with Jordan.
