September 29, 2018

Ella Holden will perform at the 2018 Vivace concert at the Covey Center for the Arts.

Next week’s 12th annual Vivace concert at the Covey Center for the Arts will feature the talents of several young local musicians.

Each winner of the 2018 Young Artist Auditions held by the Utah Symphony and Utah Valley Symphony will have a brief onstage interview and then perform a classical concerto excerpt from their audition at the show, which will follow the format of National Public Radio ’s “ From the Top ” program.

The 2018 Young Artist Auditions winners include the Bear Quartet, Ella Holden, Jenaya Van der Beek, Julia Johnson, Olivia Owens and Rebekah Willey.

This year’s Vivace concert program, directed by Kalo Latu, will include a Sibelius Violin Concerto, Mendelssohn String Quartet, Handel Harp Concerto, Bach Keyboard Concerto, Saint Saens Introduction and Rondo Capriccioso and Kabalevsky Violin Concerto.

The annual Vivace concert aims to honor young classical musicians of excellence and increase awareness of and support for the musical arts culture in Utah County.

The free concert is set for Monday at 7 p.m. at the Covey Center for the Arts, 425 W. Center St., Provo. More information is available online at coveycenter.org.
