Nashoba Tech’s Deegan Gets Founders Scholarship to Colby-Sawyer College
WESTFORD -- A senior in the Early Childhood Education program at Nashoba Valley Technical High School has received the highest scholarship given by Colby-Sawyer College.
Leah Deegan of Chelmsford received a Founders Scholarship worth $27,500, plus received an extra $4,000 off tuition by applying early action. Leah plans to start at Colby-Sawyer, in New London, N.H., in the fall to study Child Development.
Leah, the daughter of Trevor and Joanne Deegan, transferred to Nashoba Tech from Chelmsford High School after her sophomore year, hoping to find the right track to a career. She hopes to become a child life specialist, a pediatric health-care professional who works with children and their families in hospitals to help them cope with the challenges of hospitalization, illness and disability.
