Grossman unveils first TV ad in governor’s race
BOSTON (AP) — Massachusetts Treasurer Steve Grossman has released the first television ad of his campaign for governor.
The 30-second ad focuses on Grossman’s history as a jobs creator. The ad says Grossman took his family’s business and turned into a Massachusetts success story in part by treating workers with respect by offering earned sick time and family leave.
The ad also said as treasurer, Grossman encouraged loans that created jobs.
The ad takes a shot at fellow Democratic gubernatorial hopeful, Attorney General Martha Coakley, without mentioning her by name. The ad opens by asking: “Who do you trust to grow our economy as governor? A career prosecutor or a proven jobs creator?”
Grossman’s ad comes as Coakley’s early lead in polls against Republican Charlie Baker has slipped.
Grossman also holds a fundraising edge over Coakley.
