Earthwise Pet celebrates grand opening in Katy
With more and more millennials ditching traditional marriage and home-buying and opting instead for pets as a replacement for children, it’s no wonder that they’d want their babies to be glamorous.
Earthwise Pet Katy - touting itself as a “luxurious Four Seasons spa… but for pets” - is inviting millennials (and everyone else) to check out their all-natural pet nutrition center and wellness spa on Saturday, March 2. The spa is located at 22010 Westheimer Parkway in Katy.
The grand opening celebration begins at 10 a.m. and will feature door prizes, free Starbucks coffee, giveaways and “treats for you and your pets,” said Taylor Ruotsala, spokeswoman for Earthwise Pet Katy. Pets are welcome.
During the event, store owners will be offering a 10 percent discount on all products and self-wash services. Pet owners are invited to take a selfie with their pet inside a “state-of-the-art selfie booth,” according to a news release.
The store and spa has groomers on site and array of natural food options for pets.
In a 2014 Wakefield Research study, researchers found that 76 percent of millennials were more likely splurge on their pet compared to 50 percent of baby boomers. The study also found that millennials felt that getting a pet is part of preparing to have a family.
The grand opening celebration is free to the public.
