Fitchburg Woman Charged in Assault

FITCHBURG — A woman was charged with assault after injuring her boyfriend by hitting him with a frying pan and cutting him with a broken glass, according to court documents.

According to police, Alexsandra Mendes, 47, of 110 Snow St., First Floor, became angry at her boyfriend and hit him over the head with a frying pan and with a glass.

When police arrived at the apartment on May 18, they found the victim bleeding from a gash on the top of his head and a large gash on the back of his left leg.

Police reported the victim had blood all over his head and neck.

Mendes, who police said had an active warrant, was charged with two counts of assault and battery with a dangerous weapon and one count of assault and battery on a household member.
