LUBBOCK, Texas (AP) _ Aleah Johnson scored 21 points to lead five Texas Tech scorers in double figures as the No. 17 Lady Raiders defeated Southwest Texas State 102-44 Friday night.

Johnson scored 13 of Tech's first 18 points on a variety of jump shots and layups and Tech (3-0) had a 10-point lead just five minutes into the game.

Things just got worse from there for the Bobcats (2-1). Melinda Schmucker-Pharies hit a 3-pointer that triggered a 16-6 run. By halftime, the Lady Raiders were ahead 53-17.

Plenette Pierson had 20 points, Tanisha Ellison had 12, Keitha Dickerson had 11 and Jamie Nagle added 10 points for Tech.

Forward Amber Morrow led the Bobcats with 11 points and seven rebounds. Sarah Wagner added nine points.
