Hospital to build hiking trail on its property
ST. JOHNSBURY, Vt. (AP) — A hospital in St. Johnsbury is collaborating with a nonprofit to construct a recreational trail on their property.
The Caledonian Record reports Northeastern Vermont Regional Hospital is working with the Caledonia Trail Collaborative to build a recreational trail for walkers, runners and mountain bikers.
The project is intended to promote public health and conservation and would expand upon existing trails and logging roads on the property.
The trail building will be a volunteer-led initiative, with local clubs and civic groups leading the effort. The hospital will hold a public information meeting on August 13.
