2 killed, 9 injured in weekend St. Louis shootings
ST. LOUIS (AP) — Police say two people were killed and nine others were injured in several weekend shootings in the St. Louis area.
The St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports the two fatal shootings happened Saturday morning. Around 9:45 a.m. Saturday, a 70-year-old man was killed and a 48-year-old woman was injured. Two hours later, another person was killed and two people were injured.
On Saturday evening, a teen boy was shot in the leg. There has been a rash of shootings involving children in the area recently.
Early Sunday, a woman was shot in the head in the Walnut Park East neighborhood.
A few minutes later, a shooting downtown injured a woman in the shoulder and two men sustained minor graze wounds. Witnesses told police that four men appeared to be shooting at the car with two men inside.
Another woman was shot in the stomach.
