Donna Dunker Ackman, 89, of Kankakee, passed away on Wednesday (April 18, 2018) at Riverside Medical Center in Kankakee.
She was born on March 23, 1929, in Marengo, the daughter of Alfred and Ethel (Yerke) Dunker.
Donna was a member of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Kankakee, where she was very active for more than five decades. She also was a member of Kankakee Country Club.
She sold insurance for Aflac for the last 30 years in the Kankakee area. Donna was an avid golfer and enjoyed the symphony, musical stage plays, flower arranging, gardening and spectator sports.
Surviving are two sons, Jeffrey (Kathleen McCabe) Ackman, M.D., of Wilmette, and Todd (Sherry) Ackman, CPA, of Cary, N.C.; one daughter, Kathleen (Marshall) Blake, M.D., of Chicago; and six grandchildren, Marissa Blake, of Chicago, Kristiana Blake, of Chicago, Quinn Ackman, of Wilmette, Dani Ackman, of Wilmette, Nicole Ackman, of Cary, N.C., and Hannah Ackman, of Cary, N.C.
Preceding her in death were her parents; and one sister, Betty Anthony.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. on Saturday, April 21, until the 11 a.m. funeral service at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Kankakee. The Rev. Israel Anchan will officiate. Private family burial will take place in Highland Garden of Memories in Belvidere.
