Alan Adler Appointed Detroit News Editor
DETROIT (AP) _ Alan L. Adler, correspondent in charge of the San Diego bureau of The Associated Press, has been named AP news editor for Michigan, Detroit Chief of Bureau Henry S. Ackerman announced.
Adler, 29, joined the AP in Cleveland in 1980. He was named Toledo, Ohio, correspondent in that year and promoted to the San Diego position in 1984.
Adler, who was born in Lewistown, Pa., and grew up in Cincinnati, is a graduate of Ohio University.
He succeeds Michael A. McKesson, who resigned to become a deputy national editor of The Detroit News.
