FLORENCE, S.C. – The Florence Police Department wants help in identifying a man who is wanted for questioning in reference to allegedly making threatening comments.

The passenger in a truck allegedly made comments about being a copycat of Wednesday’s deadly ambush of Florence officers, Lt. Mike Brandt wrote in a media advisory.

One Florence police officer was killed and six officers – including three deputies with the Florence County Sheriff’s Office – were wounded in a shooting in the Vintage Place subdivision in west Florence.

Brandt emailed two photos, one of the truck.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Florence Police Department at 843-665-3191 or Crime Stoppers (1-888-CRIMESC/1-888-274-6372).
