Cardinals Cut Matt Joyce
TEMPE, Ariz. (AP) _ The Arizona Cardinals on Friday released Matt Joyce, who started 13 games at left guard last season but became expendable with the signing of free agent Pete Kendall.
Joyce played every position except center, starting 34 of 50 games since signing with the team in 1996.
He entered the NFL as an undrafted free agent on the Dallas Cowboys’ practice squad in 1994. He then started 13 games at guard for the Seattle Seahawks in 1995.
Kendall, who will hold down the left side of the line with tackle L.J. Shelton, signed a five-year, $18 million contract this week, with a $5 million signing bonus.
