Today could be Philly’s hottest day of the summer. And trouble brewing in tropics?
With this week’s pulse of heat, this month is all but certain to finish among the top 15 warmest Augusts in the 145-year period of record in Philadelphia.
And while Wednesday’s forecast high probably will fall short of the record for Aug. 29 record – 98, set in the mightily hot summer of 1991 – heat indices again are due to crack triple figures, and the official thermometer at Philadelphia International Airport could well reach a high point for the summer
