T’wolves’ Garnett Sits Out Game
MINNEAPOLIS (AP) _ Minnesota Timberwolves forward Kevin Garnett sat out Wednesday night’s game against the San Antonio Spurs after being treated for dehydration and flu-like symptoms.
Garnett did not travel with the team to Texas, spokesman Dan Bell said.
``K.G.’s physically exhausted,″ coach Flip Saunders said Tuesday. ``With all the injuries we’ve had, other guys have been forced to step up, and they’re getting beat up, too.″
After Garnett played 41 minutes Monday in Minnesota’s 95-90 loss to Houston, he was hooked to an IV to replenish his fluids. In the last five games, Garnett has averaged 38.8 minutes.
After Sunday’s game against Detroit, Garnett said the compressed season and his increased role for the Wolves were taking a toll.
``I’m working on trying to get some rest,″ he said.
