MONTGOMERY, Ala. (AP) _ Leonard Bush scored 25 points, including the last six points of the game, and Chad Jones chipped in 23 to lead Alabama-Birmingham to a 102-95 victory over Alabama State in triple overtime Tuesday night.

Alabama State (0-7) got two 3-pointers to overcome a six-point deficit in the final minute of regulation. The Hornets led 73-70 in the final seconds when Jones hit a 3-pointer that tied the game and forced the first overtime period.

Alabama State missed four of six free throws in the first overtime, and Alabama-Birmingham (8-6) forced another extra session on a Jones layup with two seconds left that made it 82-82.

In the second overtime, Alabama State’s Jimmy Lunsford hit a free throw that made it 89-89 with two seconds left but missed the winning bucket for a third period.

UAB outscored the weary Hornets 13-6 in the final overtime. Bush and De’Shanti Foreman each contributed 3-pointers in the run.

Foreman scored 16 points for the Blazers. Travis Harper had 15 and Anthony Thomas 12 before fouling out with 3:54 left in overtime.

Alabama State was led by Kirby Fortenberry with 28 points before he fouled out with 27 seconds left in overtime. Michael Tyler added 25, Rongie Gordon 12 and Lunsford and Robert Jackson had 10 each.
