CATANIA, Sicily (AP) _ Police arrested more than 60 suspected Mafia members in several cities overnight on charges of criminal association, international drug trafficking and homicides, authorities said Friday.

Police said at least 37 people were arrested in this eastern port city, while two were arrested in Rome and three in Bastia Umbra near Perugia in central Italy. The others were taken into custody in Bologna and Foligno, police said.

The arrest warrants were issued by prosecutor Salvatore Curti Giardina of Catania as part of a nationwide crackdown on the Sicilian criminal organization, police said.
