BONO MEETS WITH POPE FRANCIS

VATICAN CITY (AP) — Bono says Pope Francis is “aghast” at the sex abuse scandal in the Catholic Church. Bono met privately with Francis yesterday at the Vatican hotel where the pope lives. Bono told him that it looks as if the church is protecting the abusers more than the victims, and he says he could see “the pain in his face.” Bono says he feels Francis was sincere. Bono says they also discussed the world economy, sustainable development and “the wild beast that is capitalism.”
