Parachuting Accident Kills One
FORT BRAGG, N.C. (AP) _ A military transport plane flew through a group of descending paratroopers, killing a soldier and injuring another, the Army said.
The soldiers were jumping from three Air Force C-141 Starlifter airplanes from McGuire Air Force Base, N.J., on Wednesday when one of the planes flew through the formation, said Capt. Lewis Boone, a Fort Bragg spokesman.
The accident is under investigation by the Army and Air Force, Boone said.
Killed was Pfc. Edward L. Suits Jr., 20, of Clinton, S.C.
The name and condition of the injured man were not disclosed.
