NRD director to speak at Legacy of the Plains Friday
GERING – On Friday, March 22, at 5 p.m., Legacy of the Plains Museum is hosting North Platte Natural Resource District’s John Berge, who will be presenting on our water system and how it differs from other water systems in the world. This event will be held at 5pm in the museum’s Community Room.
This event is hosted in coordination with the Smithsonian Museum on Main Street (MoMS) traveling exhibit, “Water/Ways” which is currently on display at Legacy of the Plains Museum until April 12.
“Water/Ways” explores the endless motion of the water cycle, water’s effect on landscape, settlement and migration, and its impact on culture and spirituality. It looks at how political and economic planning is affected by access to water and control of water resources. Human creativity and resourcefulness provide new ways of protecting water resources and renewing respect for the natural environment.
