Rochester’s Memorial Day observances begin at 9:15 a.m. with music from the Plummer Building Carillon. At 9:45 a.m., there will be a procession from Central Park First Avenue to the Soldiers Field Veterans Memorial. The program at Soldiers Field starts at 10:30 a.m.

At noon, veterans organizations will honor those who were buried at sea at the Seventh Street Bridge at Silver Lake Park.

Cemetery services by VFW Post 1215 are at: 12:30 p.m. Oakwood Cemetery, 1:30 p.m. Fisherman Inn, 2:30 p.m. Pleasant Prairie, 3:30 p.m. at Oakwood No. 2.

Marine Corps League Thor Detachment 606: 12:45 p.m. Grandview, 1:30 p.m. Marion, 2:15 p.m. Fairview, 2:45 p.m. St. Bridget.

American Legion Post 92: 12:30 p.m. Calvary, 1:15 p.m. Farm Hill, 2:15 p.m. Quarry Hill West.


American Legion Post 119 ceremonies at 8 .m. at Othello Cemetery, at 8:30 a.m. at Douglas Cemetery, at 9 a.m. at Mount Hope Cemetery, at 10 a.m. at Byron Cemetery.

Cannon Falls

The parade begins at 10:30 a.m.from Cannon Falls High School through downtown. The memorial service is at 11 a.m. at the Colvill Memorial site in Cannon Falls Community Cemetery.


American Legion Post 400 ceremony at 9 a.m. at the Canton Town Hall.


Parade starts at 9:50 a.m., marching to Potter Auditorium for 10 a.m. program. After the ceremony in the park, there will be a “Lost at Sea” ceremony on the County Road 2 bridge over the Root River.


Memorial Day program by American Legion Post 573 starts at 10 a.m. at Elgin Cemetery. Potluck lunch at noon at the fire hall.

Mabel VFW and American Legion graveside ceremonies at 7:30 a.m. at Highland Lutheran, 8:30 a.m. at Hesper Lutheran, 9 a.m. at Hesper Public, 9:45 a.m. at Burr Oak, 10:15 a.m. at Henrytown, 10:45 a.m. at Prosper. Meet at Legion Hall at 11:15 a.m., march to Steam Engine Grounds for 11:30 a.m. ceremony. Potluck dinner at legion hall follows.


American Legion Post 579 will conduct services at 7:45 a.m. at St. Patrick’s Cemetery in West Albany, at 9 a.m. at Millville Cemetery, at 9:30 a.m. at Old Swedith Cemetery, at 10:15 a.m. at Hilltop Cemetery, at 10:30 a.m. at Bremen Cemetery, at 10:45 a.m. at Potsdam Cemetery.


American Legion Post 544 services at 9:30 a.m. at Bennington Cemetery, 9:45 a.m. at Bloomfield Cemetery, 10 a.m. at Etna Cemetery, 10:15 a.m. at Cherry Grove Cemetery. Main service is at 11 a.m at Ostrander Cemetery.


Program at 10 a.m. at the historic bandstand. Meatball dinner follows at Grace Lutheran Church.


Parade is at 10:30 a.m from the American Legion hall. Program is at 11 a.m. at Greenwood Cemetery. In addition, ceremonies at the following cemeteries: 7:45 a.m. St. Joachim Catholic Church, 8 a.m. at Pleasant Valley Cemetery, 8:15 a.m. at Little Valley Cemetery, 8:30 a.m. at Woodland Cemetery, 8:45 a.m. at Beaver Cemetery, 9 a.m. at Zion Lutheran Cemetery. Barbecue chicken served in the legion hall at 11:45 a.m.


Program at 9:30 a.m. at Christ Lutheran Church. Ceremonies follow at West Bridge, and at Crown Hill Cemetery.

Red Wing

Memorial Day Remembrance Celebration begins with a brief ceremony at 8:15 a.m. at John Rich Park, and continues with a full program at 8:45 a.m. at East Bay Point Park.


Breakfast at American Legion hall at 7 a.m. Memorial service at 10:30 a.m. at Veterans Memorial Park. Burger and brat feed at American Legion hall starts at 11:30 a.m.

Spring Grove

Parade from school to Viking Memorial Park starts at 9:45 a.m. Program at 10 a.m.

Spring Valley

Ceremony at 9:45 a.m. at veterans memorial and at 10 a.m. at Spring Valley Community Center. Ceremony at Spring Valley Cemetery follows.


The parade starts at 10 a.m. and ends at Woodlawn Cemetery, where Mayor Jimmie-John King and Stewartville Middle School students Emily Lamb and Emma Rowen will address the gathering. Brief ceremonies will also be held at St. Bernard’s Cemetery and at cemeteries in Pleasant Grove and High Forest.


The American Legion parade and program is at 10 a.m. at Schmidt’s Park, followed by a barbecue chicken dinner from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the VFW, 138 Second St. E.


Ceremony at 7 p.m. Sunday at Whalan Town Hall.


Ceremony at 10:30 a.m. at Fillmore Cemetery.
