Marketing grant applications now available from the county
Fiscal year 2020 state marketing grant applications are available now at the Aiken County Visitors Center at 133 Laurens St. N.W. in Aiken.
They also can be found at the Parks, Recreation and Tourism office in the Aiken County Government Center at 1930 University Parkway in Aiken.
In addition, the applications are available at discoveraikencounty.com on the contact page.
The grants must be used for marketing and advertising tourism-related events and programs. The priority is to provide funds to areas of Aiken County that are unincorporated.
According to a press release from the county, “the available tax funds are collected in the unincorporated areas of Aiken County through accommodations and are to be distributed in a manner to replenish the accommodations tax base.”
Applicants should have 50 percent matching funds.
The events and programs must take place and be completed between July 1, 2019 and June 30, 2020.
The deadline to submit applications, which should be sent or taken to the Visitors Center, is 5 p.m. on March 29.
Applicants who turn in their forms by March 22 will be notified of any errors or missing information.
