October 2, 2018

A Hempfield Township man was arrested Saturday by state police for allegedly assaulting a woman at her apartment and then threatening her with a 9 mm handgun.

Colton J. Macierowski, 29, was charged with aggravated assault, simple assault, terroristic threats, strangulation and harassment after the incident at Starboard Villa Apartments between 1 and 4 a.m.

Troopers said they were called after a woman reported Macierowski had assaulted and choked her. Trooper Anthony Arbaczewski said when the victim attempted to leave, Macierowski grabbed a handgun from the closet and pointed it at her.

Macierowski was arraigned in night court before District Judge Charles R. Conway and released on $100,000 unsecured bond pending a Sept. 11 preliminary hearing.
