Reagan Nominates Ferch as Honduras Ambassador
WASHINGTON (AP) _ President Reagan said Tuesday he will nominate John Arthur Ferch, a Foreign Service officer who has served in Cuba for the past three years, to be U.S. ambassador to Honduras.
Ferch, 49, succeeds John D. Negroponte.
A member of the Foreign Service since 1958, Ferch has been chief of the U.S. interests section in Havana since 1982.
The president also said he will appoint Frederick Elliot Hart, a Washington, D.C., sculptor, to be a member of the Commission of Fine Arts.
