Local Entrepreneurs Never Off Schedule
Fitchburg residents Moses Maxi and Kahlid Daniel have made it their business to help kids and adults feel good about what they wear on the outside and how they feel on the inside.
The two, along with a small local team, created Never Off Schedule, a trendy fitness/casual apparel and willpower-driven movement.
Maxi is a 2011 graduate of Leominster High School and a 2016 graduate of Fitchburg State University, from which he graduated with a bachelor’s degree in interdisciplinary studies, with a concentration in pre-law.
Daniel, also a graduate of Leominster High School, attended Worcester State University, studying public health.
“When I moved to Boston, I was impressed by the professionals that I was surrounded with,” says Maxi, “and it pushed me to go forward with my life, whether it was at work or at the gym. I came up with my own saying, to ‘never be off schedule,’ and that turned into the logo for our company.”
Maxi and Daniel wanted to spread that mindset to their friends and family, especially in Fitchburg, a city that holds a special place for them.
“We reached out to our friends, family and community for ideas, and later met with a local graphic designer,” Maxi says. “After several ideas that went back and forth to the drawing board, the team came up with the logo.”
Daniel’s background in communications and sales helped with marketing the clothing line using social media or personally delivering apparel to customers.
When visiting Never Off Schedule’s website, you will find custom-designed tank tops, T-shirts, long-sleeve shirts, sweatshirts, sweaters, visors, beanies and hats, along with a variety of performance gear for men and women, in all sizes and colors.
The company is working on designing backpacks and clothing with logos in different colors, with a launch date of mid-September.
The clothing line’s motto -- Never Off Schedule (NOS) -- also adds a touch of motivation for its customers.
“Never Off Schedule’s homepage is more than a shopping experience,” says Maxi. “When clicking on the tabs, visitors will find motivational quotes, a Tuesday Training Challenge and Millennial Moves.”
Daniel adds, “The Tuesday Training Challenge, set to motivate individuals throughout their week, features inspirational quotes based on your mind, body and soul to keep you on schedule.”
Millennial Moves is their personal recognition and shout-out to millennials who are on track toward achieving their own personal goals.
Maxi and Daniel say their motivation and dedication to their business and helping others feel good about themselves comes from their families.
“I thank my parents, both Haitian-Americans, for helping me to understand the sacrifice they had to make in order to give my family a shot at a great future,” says Maxi. “They are both now college-educated and taught us to work hard, get a good education and respect others.”
He says the clothing brand is a tribute to his family and his community.
Daniel says his two older brothers are his driving force.
“I am always trying to keep up with them,” he says with a smile. “They further push me to keep a good work ethic along with making the family proud, of course.”
Maxi and Daniel and their team plan to continue to expand into the community with many outreach projects on the way.
“We really love working with other entrepreneurs to help them develop their businesses through advertising and collaboration of their products through music, art and more,” says Maxi. “I am just an entrepreneur at heart.”
He is quick to say that Never Off Schedule is not just about the clothing. It’s also about wearing affordable gear that you can be proud of, and showing you are committed to taking care of yourself.
“Make a schedule. Respect it. And execute it. This can change your life like it did mine,” Maxi says. “And like someone once said to me, ‘If you don’t like what’s going on in your life at the moment, take a step back and realize you are capable of great things no matter what age or background you come from, so be bold, proud and positive.’”
