4 residents displaced after truck crashes into home

September 26, 2018

BETHEL, Vt. (AP) — Police say four people have been displaced due to a truck crashing into their home, while the truck driver has been taken into custody on an unrelated warrant.

Vermont State Police say no injuries were reported when the truck crashed into the Bethel home early Tuesday. The Valley News reports 44-year-old Stephen Driscoll was taken into custody after being medically evaluated.

Bethel Town Constable Mark Belisle says the apartment building Driscoll crashed into has been condemned, and at least four people have been displaced.

Belisle says he believes they have temporary housing.

According to police, Driscoll’s warrant was not driving related. Officials are investigating the crash, but say they don’t believe alcohol or speed was a factor in the crash.
