BUTLER-SEX ASSAULT SUIT

INDIANAPOLIS — A woman who’s a former Butler University athlete is suing the school, accusing it and a campus fraternity of failing to protect her from a male student-athlete with a history of sexual assault she alleges raped her in a fraternity house in 2016. The federal lawsuit filed Monday by the now 20-year-old woman claims that the same man had raped another student athlete on multiple occasions but that Butler officials failed to take appropriate action. — ATV-POND DEATH: Conservation officers say a 60-year-old southern Indiana man died when an all-terrain vehicle he was riding rolled into a pond, trapping him underwater beneath the machine.

— POPE CAR-INDIANA AUCTION: A 1976 Ford Escort GL once owned by St. Pope John Paul II is hitting the auction block in Indiana for the second time.

— LIBRARY-NO LATE FINES: The library system in Indiana’s third-largest city is becoming the latest in the state to drop fines for overdue items to encourage more people to visit its branches.
