Woman sentenced to prison in stabbing death of her mother
LAS VEGAS (AP) — A 27-year-old Henderson woman is headed to prison after being sentenced for second-degree murder in the fatal stabbing of her mother.
A judge sentenced Carly Kalbfleisch on Friday to 14 to 35 years in prison on her plea of guilty but mentally ill in the killing of 65-year-old Rebecca Kalbfleisch.
The woman was stabbed at least 70 times and had a major head wound.
The Las Vegas Review-Journal reports that the daughter is expected to receive psychological aid while in prison.
