AUBURN HILLS, Mich. (AP) _ Detroit Pistons guard Joe Dumars will miss at least five games after pulling his left hamstring in the team's season opener.

Dumars was placed on the injured list Saturday. No one is expected to replace him on the team's active roster, Pistons spokesman Bill Wickett said.

Dumars went down during the second quarter of Friday's 92-79 victory over the Washington Wizards. Dumars had driven into the lane in heavy traffic and rolled a reverse layup off the glass for a basket. Dumars was untouched, but his momentum carried him to the right corner where he crumpled to the floor in obvious pain.

The Pistons play at New York on Sunday.
