Cougars Sweep Doubleheader
The Misericordia women’s basketball team jumped out to a huge first-half lead and didn’t look back, cruising to a 67-49 nonleague win over Keystone on Wednesday at the Anderson Sports-Health Center.
The Cougars (2-0) built a 23-7 lead in the first quarter and bumped their advantage up to 22 by halftime.
Rachel Carmody was the top scorer with 22 points, while Japriya Carroll chipped in 18.
Keystone was cold shooting and made only two of its 22 3-point attemepts.
Foster Clark and Noah Rivera both had double-doubles, helping Misericordia escape with a 68-64 win over the College of Staten Island at the Anderson Sports-Health Center.
The Cougars (1-0) led 36-28 at the half, but had to hold on late as the Dolphins nearly erased an 18-point deficit.
Jason Kenny led all Misericordia scorers with 23 points.
