Director Cameron Extends Contract

LOS ANGELES (AP) _ The director of ``Titanic,″ ``Aliens″ and ``The Terminator″ movies has re-upped with 20th Century Fox.

James Cameron’s Lightstorm Entertainment has signed a new five-year deal continuing its relationship with Fox. The deal gives the studio first-look options for films under development by Cameron and his Lightstorm partners Rae Sanchini and Jon Landau.

``I’ve had a 16-year history with Fox, going back to `Aliens’ in ’85, and I’ve always loved having the Fox fanfare at the head of my films,″ Cameron said in a statement.

Fox and Paramount co-financed Lightstorm’s ``Titanic.″

Among the projects under development at Lightstorm are the sci-fi drama ``Brother Termite,″ the romantic comedy ``Damned If I Do″ and a sequel to Cameron’s comic spy thriller, ``True Lies.″
