Popular pig roast cancelled amid complaints in Malvern

Crowds packed into the Malvern Fire Company’s fire house in 2016 for the volunteer department’s annual pig roast. This year’s event has been cancelled due to complaints over the animal being served.

An annual fundraiser for a Chester County volunteer fire department has been scuttled due to protests over pork.

The Malvern Fire Company was set to host its sixth annual pig roast on Aug. 4, but has cancelled the event after numerous calls, complaints and threats of protests over the animal being cooked and served, company officials. It was unclear who made the complaints.
