‘I feared for my life’: Former Pagan member testifies at April Kauffman murder trial

Former Pagan member Joseph Mulholland testified in court Monday that the motorcycle club’s Jersey shore chapter leader Ferdinand “Freddy” Augello paid him $1,000 to drive a hitman to April Kauffman’s house on the morning of her murder.

In the Atlantic County courthouse, Mulholland detailed how Dr. James Kauffman and Augello, the only person still alive charged in April Kauffman’s death, plotted to kill the South Jersey radio host. Alleged hitman Francis Mulholland, who is not related to Joseph Mulholland, died of an overdose in 2013. James Kauffman hung himself in Hudson County Jail earlier this year after being charged in his wife’s murder.
